Interaction between the tobacco mosaic virus movement protein and host cell pectin methylesterases is required for viral cell-to-cell movement

Pectin methylesterases interact with TMV movement protein. And also recognized by MPs of Turnip vein clearing virus, and Cauliflower mosaic virus.
Deletion experiments showed that the domain is important for the interaction(Chen, Sheng et al. 2000).
(Del-4)The deletion of position of 130-185 amino acid of MPs abolished the interaction with the PME protein, and also block the Dilate ability of MPs with plasmodesmata.
When inoculated the wild type infectious on Necrosis local lesion host Tobacco Samsun NN, the wild type pruduce the NLL. In contrast the del-4 did not, and the cell to cell movement was occurred.
